Wiki Fitting of prosthetic/artificial iris

Do you mean for the fitting of a prosthetic eye or the fitting of a specialty contact lens with an iris image printed on it?

Tom Cheezum, O.D., CPC

An artificial iris implantation is the insertion of a prosthetic iris to replace a damaged or congenitally defected iris. Many iris implants are custom made and tailored to the patient, in order to match the other eye and are usually made of silicone. An incision is made in the cornea, through which the iris implant is inserted. The implanted is usually folded into a narrow tube, and released beneath the cornea. It is then carefully unfurled and fitted into place. But could not find a correct CPT code. Is this coded with 66680?????:confused::confused:
