I'm new to the billing world!

When billing for flu vaccine, is the below correct?

Commercial 90658 + G0008 (or is there a different administration code)
Medicare Q2037 + G0008

Also, if the patient comes strictly for a flu vaccine, do we charge a nurse visit? If they see the doctor, do we charge the appropriate E&M?

Help please!!

Flu Vaccination

G0008 + Q2037 (for Fluvirin) - Medicare Patients

Effective for dates of service on or after October 1, 2010, Healthcare Common
Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes Q2035, Q2036, Q2037, Q2038, and
Q2039 will replace the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code 90658 (Influenza virus vaccine, split virus, when administered to individuals 3 years of age and older, for intramuscular use) for Medicare payment purposes during the 2010-2011 influenza season; however, these HCPCS codes will not be recognized by the Medicare claims processing systems until January 1, 2011, when CPT code 90658 will no longer
be recognized.

Hope this helps

Commercial 90658,90471, Medicare Q2037, G0008. Nurse visit will not pay. If they are seen for another reason you can bill an office visit.
