Can you continue to charge 88177 for each additional episode after a satisfactory specimen has been received? For thyroid FNA's, two satisfactory passes/episodes are needed for adequacy. Can both be charged or do you stop charging after you get the first adequacy?

you can only code upto and including the pass for adequacy..once adequacy has been reached, nothing else is billable due to medical necessity.
