Foker process

I believe you are referring to the Foker process used to treat long gap esophageal atresia. This is multiple stage procedure that starts with a thoracic procedure where sutures are put into each end of the esophagus. The child is then kept sedated and on a ventilator for a period of time while tension is applied to the sutures to cause the ends of the esophagus to grow to the point where they can be connected by a second surgical procedure. The initial procedure may be an unlisted code as I see nothing describing it and it is not widely performed. The second surgery is an anastomosis of the two ends of the esophagus and may fall into the procedures described by codes 43313-43314 but I am not sure about that.

If others know more on this from a coding perspective, I would also be interested.
