What diagnosis code do I use if a patient has a visit with the provider to talk about lab results. The provider used the diagnosis as a lab examination

What were the lab results? If the discussion has to do with the lab findings (disease or condition), then that's what you'd code. If the lab was ordered for symptoms, and the lab results were normal, you'd code the symptoms, which should be part of the discussion. For a screening lab (no symptoms) and normal results, code for preventive counseling.
