Patient had an irrigation and debridememt of left forearm down to bone and insertion of Jackson -Pratt drain . Patient had persistent drainage from midportion of wound and now returns for proceure. CPT CODE 250285 ? OR IS IT IN 10140. Their DX was seroma of forearm-thanks
 
It depends

IS this for a pre-auth or are you coding the op report?

If the procedure involves going into the muscle and bone you might be looking in the musculoskeletal area for your code.

If the seroma was limited to the skin and subq then 10140 is probably accurate.
