Hello all,

I have a situation where a patient is 11 months old and has Medicaid. Our Licensed Family and Marriage Therapist created a visit that was addressing some of the parent's concerns and provided resources. I queried the provider due to being unsure if this was billable, especially under the child's insurance. The provider expressed that she was told she could see a struggling parent one time to provide resources and then they will be required to become a patient. I personally do not think this is billable, but I wanted to run this by you all to see how you would handle the situation. The diagnosis used is R69, Illness unspecified. If anyone would chime in on if this is billable.
