A patient is seen by another provider at a different practice and a cast was applied and a fracture care code billed. the patient called our practice and wants to make an appointment to be seen. How would be bill this? Can we bill an office visit even though she is currently in a global period with the other provider?

They really should be going back to the previous provider. If the patient is transferring to a different Dr for post op, if the primary documents the transfer of care and rebill's with the pre and inter-op modifiers, then your provider can bill with the Post-op modifier and be paid for that portion.
