I need some help, I have a patient with an ankle fracture, presented to the Emergency Room, one of our family practice physicians saw the patient and proceeded to do a reduction of ankle fracture dislocation under general anesthesia in the ER, and then was admitted to inpatient where our orthopedic surgeon, did a open reduction, with internal fixation, the very next day. I am struggling on the cpt codes mostly because both did procedures, since they are different specialities can i code for both procedures or do I need a modifier on one. Very confused on the guidelines for this part of fracture care coding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
