I am new to ASC's...I only code surgeries/procedures for hospital (outpatient basis) Is there a difference in the coding of the two? Meaning, I normally don't code for supplies, drugs,medicines, etc.. used during operations. Do ASC's normally code for these things? Any other differences? Thanks!:)
 
No, there is no difference. Only the surgical procedures are reported on the claim. In some instances supplies may be reported. Check with the individual carrier regarding this.::)
