Hello,
I currently work for a billing company for a freestanding ER. Due to the fact that our local hospitals are currently over full and do not have any beds available we are temporarily approved to accept these patients as inpatient for several days as opposed to our normal of 24 hrs. We are hitting some things within our coding department that we are unsure of and though here might be somewhere to ask. When coding for inpatient instead would we code for labs drawn, imaging taken, and drugs given per day or as a whole visit? Also any other assistance in this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
