We have a new provider to our practice who previously gave intravitreal injections every 28 days to patients. It has been our experience to inject on the 29th day to avoid claim denial. Most of the drug literature says to administer approximately every 28 days. Does this mean we should be able to bill every 28 days and still receive full reimbursement? We mostly inject Avastin, Eylea and Lucentis. I don't want to bill some at 28 days and see if they pay or not since they are so expensive. Has anyone else tried and received full payment when injecting every 28 days?
