Hi - I posted this in the modifier section but got no responses. Figured it couldn't hurt to post here
Hi! What's the best G modifier to use for 0396T for medicare? We have abn but not sure is this is considered a mandatory or voluntary abn since its experiental. So not sure if it is GA or GY, Gx. I guess the larger question (non ortho) would be if a MD is billing for a temporary code which 0 RVU is the ABN voluntary or mandatory. I am confused by the whole statutorily excluded vs not medical necessary. For T codes its not medically necessary in any situation because its not covered at this time (emerging technology)
