It is my understanding that G0402 is the Welcome to Medicare exam, needs to be completed within the first year of Medicare eligibility. G0438 is a Medicare Wellness exam, completed after the first year of Medicare eligibility, bill the first time the patient is seen for a wellness exam. G0439 is a Medicare Wellness exam, billed every year there after.
