I recently began working for a telemed company that provides nuero consults thru the ED. We are having a difficult time establishing the appropriateness of capturing the G0427 telemedicne consult code for these visits due to not meeting the criteria of a comprehensive exam. Does anyone else have experience with coding telemed in similar situation that could offer some guidance or have any good resources I can share with the team? It is our understanding that other providers have been billing these out so we are wondering what/if we are missing something that would help us capture the appropriate documentation for the G0427 due to the severity of the patients that are being seen, or if other providers are using it inappropriately. We just don't want to be leacving money on the table if it is appropriate-just like any other company lol
