Does anyone know anything about using the GC modifier with pschiatry procedure codes? ( 90801-90899) :o Any links/documentation would be great. Thanks!
 
Sorry I don't have any links or documentation on this, but we use the GC modifier to notify Medicare when the attending saw the patient with a resident (teaching facility). It doesn't influence payment; just used for notification.
 
GC modifier with Psychiatry

We use the GC modifier mostly with our consult services when billing to Medicare. Otherwise we receive a "split/shared services" denial.
