I am considering taking the General Surgery exam soon. Any tips?

I took it a couple of years ago (before ICD-10). Best bet is to buy and do the online practice exam, till you are comfortable and especially helpful with the procedures you aren't familiar with. There were questions regarding Pacemakers and kidney removals for transplants that I haven't coded before. I'm thinking there might have even been a pediatric kidney transplant. The questions on the practice exam were similar, so my taking it and reviewing the rationales and guidelines that they provided, helped me tremendously.
