I got a question today that I need help with. A genetics testing vendor (friend of a friend) called me to make sure that they are billing things out correctly. They are a sort of middleman who provides testing for certain genetic conditions to providers, providers send these orders to labs, and they get a percentage of what the lab makes. The person who called me is checking onto using a different lab, but this lab does not do any billing themselves, they want the vendor to do their own billing, and he wants to make sure that will be done correctly. They take the orders, and are charged for the orders, but the lab does the test. The CPT codes are 83891,83900,83901,83912. 83914. Do they just send out the CPT codes like a billing service? Any help would be appreciated!
