I code for Geriatric at home visits.
For patients who live on the grounds of an ALF in an apartment (Independent cottage, living no staff care) is the place of service for the place of service for the visit 12 home - private residence- or 13 Assisted living. I have received conflicting information and would like a resource to refer to. CMS is not specific, nor anywhere else I have researched.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks so much!
