Wiki Global periods

I have a patient that had surgery with a 90 day global period. Within the global period, he had another surgery that also is a 90 day global. Months later, the first global has ended, but is the 2nd global still in effect? The doctor is doing a follow up, Both surgeries were for the same thing (kidney stones). A co-worker thinks since the follow up is for the same DX, we can bill and be paid because the original 90 global has expired. Any thoughts???

also certain procedures have different global periods always good to check to see. but yes you are global to your most recent surgery.
