GM All- I work for an Insurance company ( MVA related specifically ) -- Have one question on Global surgery Package ? when it comes to different specialties…any treatment rendered by a different specialist (not related to the surgery, itself; but related to the MVA) would be allowed-for both GPS 010 and GPS 090?
Example -- Pt developed Pneumonia after ORIF ...which was checked by Internal Medicine ? Do we pay Internal medicine or not ?

Thanks
Vani

The global surgery package is a packaged payment for the surgeon. Other specialists or physicians are not included in the global payment. They are paid separately.

(It is possible for the surgeon to transfer all follow up care to another physician after surgery, but that's not the scenario in your question.)

You can read more about what's included in a global surgical package here: https://www.aapc.com/blog/46373-your-quick-guide-to-the-global-surgical-package/
