In our facility we have an Orthopedic PA who sees patients. The physician who oversees this PA is a member of another facility w/ a different NPI #. When the surgeon does procedures here at our facility the PA will assist and I code and bill for the PA's assist services only (the surgeons office bills and codes for his srvs). My question is for 1 procedure it was not billable with an assist so we didn't charge for the PA's srvs. The patient came in for post op to see the PA and he applied a new splint. Can I bill for the application, e/m or anything at all?
