I am new to Chiropractic and I have a provider billing 98941 & 97012 GP. Can anyone explain to me why he is using this modifier with this service?

Thanks,

I believe that the reason you put the modifier GP on 97012 is to denote the service as a physical therapy code. Medicare require the use of the GP (for my MAC we have to bill GY and GP) and many other carriers are now doing so as well. Hope that helps.
