I have a provider who would like to do group counseling for smoking cessation. She is a LCSW. What would be the appropriate code to bill for this type of counseling? Would it be 99078? Thanks for your help!
I have actual MD's that want to open a clinic and work with groups for smoking cessation and the actual smoking codes 99406-99407 do not say for group education. Do you think Medicare and Medicaid will pay for 99078 for smoking cessation in a group setting and if so, what requirements would be needed to bill for this?
