For the past two years, I have been working in a mental health agency that does not contract with private insurance or Medicare, we contract specifically with state medicaid. As a result, my coding skills have seriously dulled. I want to be a great coder, I want to expand my skills, and I want to move on from mental/behavioral health. In the past 6 months, I have taken two tests for prospective employment. I get to the second interview, I take the test, and I fail. I am so out of practice, and I am getting frustrated. What are the most common mistakes for both in & out patient coding scenarios? What are my best resources to get back in practice so that I can meet my potential? Please help!
