I have a payer that requires ICD-9 coding. However, code 779.31 can no longer be used for billing after October 2015. How would I code this? Would I have the other codes in ICD-9 but this one in ICD-10?

According to their website, Healthchoice uses current coding, including ICD10.

I appreciate you taking the time for me. I am brand new to the billing for this very small practice (one provider) and just knowing to look at payers websites, etc. is not

All HIPAA covered entities were required to start using ICD10 over 6 years ago. It is possible that there are some non-HIPAA entities still using ICD9, but I am not aware of any. I don't even have any of my ICD9 books still at this point. I still sometimes "think" in ICD9, then translate.
