The patient was seen in clinic on Friday and had an h&p and a 99214 was billed for the clinic visit .Then the patient was admitted to the hosptial as an outpatient for chemo (maybe a 20 min infusion) on Sunday can we use the h&p from clinic on Friday or do we need to do another h&p even though it has only been 24 -48 hours since the last h&p?

I guess the question boils down to can we omit doing the h&p if the patient was seen with 72 hours in clinic and use the clinc h&p?
