H0036 while and injection performed

does anyone have any knowledge of H0036 not being allowed to overlap time with an injection visit? the injection visits are so short (minutes) that it seems silly to stop their CPST time for such a short period. any input is appreciated
 
Time based codes cannot overlap with other services - it constitutes 'double dipping' because you'd getting payment for the H0036 service during the time that the injection is being given. You're correct that with such a short time it may not amount to much of a difference, and it likely wouldn't impact the payment unless the injection time tipped you over the midpoint and caused you to bill an incorrect number of units for the time-based code. However, it is what it is. My suggestion is if it's a big inconvenience for the provider to stop the clock, then have them give the injection either before starting or after ending the session.
