I am just learning Podiatry coding and have a question about the following hammertoe repair.
The patient has "hammertoe deformity, second digit, proximal interphalangeal joint right foot." And "hammertoe deformity, second digit, distal interphalangeal joint.
The doctor performed an Arthroplasty of proximal interphalangeal joint second digit with K-wire fixation And Arthrodesis distal interphalangeal joint second digit with k wire fixation. Is this coded as 28285-T6?
Since the correction is at the proximal and distal end of the same digit; I'm not sure if I'm under coding this.
28285-T6-22 modifier?
