Can someone please help me with a cpt code. I'm thinking 25031 but not too sure. He states he did an incision and debridement of left septic wrist. Below is op report: Thanks in advance.
Two longitudinal incisions were made, one over the ulnar aspect of the wrist over the ulnar mid carpal joint, and one radially over the extensor carpi radialis all the way down to the base of the metacarpal and thumb/index web space to expose the extensor tendons, retracting them to approach the joint at the thumb CMC joint as well as the radial aspect of the STT joint and radiocarpal joint, which clearly was a profound proliferative synovitis with mild purulence. Cultures were made. The joints were cleaned out as thoroughly as possible with rongeurs, sent as specimen, and irrigated thoroughly with saline solution, as was the one on the ulnar side down between the 4 and 5 compartments, retracting the tendons, incising the capsule longitudinally to open the radiocarpal and mid carpal joint and clean out the synovium that was available. It was cleaned radically and irrigated thoroughly. The cartilage appeared amazingly intact. It was packed open with the iodoform gauze down in the joint all the way out to the superficial surface and a sterile bulky bandage was applied.
