Hello! Does anyone know if Alzheimers [331.0] and dementia [294.8] are HCC diagnoses? The information I have is pretty conflicting.

Thanks! Robin Roblin

My understanding is that the Alzheimers and Dementia HCCs changed a bit as of October last year, to better accomodate ICD-9 code changes.

Do an Internet search for "ICD-9-CM Codes, CMS-HCC (MA), CMS-HCC (ESRD, PACE) and RxHCC models (updated April 1, 2011)" and you should find a listing of ICD9s. :)

Robin,

Linda didn't have the information right off the top of her head. She will get back to my supervisor and I will pass it along.

FYI, she is a WONDERFUL speaker with many years of coding experience. Kept our interest without boring us for 2.5 hours. I would attend any (even outside my specialty) conference, webinar, seminar, etc where she is the presenter. WOW!

Thanks so much for getting back to me. Linda must be a great speaker to be able to hold an audience. Usually I become so glazed over during the webinars I need to have a electric shock to bring me out of it!
Looking forward to hearing from you. Have a good day Cyndi!
