Dear All,

Can we code both headache(784.0),& Migraine(346.90) since Index leads Migraine is subintendation of headache at the same time when im looking in to tabular list of headache (784.0) the Excludes notes states Migraine is excluded from headache clinically many coders Suggest it as symptom of Migraine but as per coding guidelines there are two different concepts please advice Thanks in advance..

headache and migraine.

If headache and migraine both are documented we should code only migraine not headache. Headache is the symptom of migraine. If u have migraine u will experience headache . But if u have only headache then it doesn't mean that u have migraine too, coz headache may be due to some other reason. thats why in tabular list under headache excludes migraine.
migraine ahving feature headache
But headache doesn't mean pt having migraine.
