Has anyone billed code 93568 with a 93580? 93568 is an add on code. The primary code for the 93568 is bundled into the 93580. Per Dr Z's book, Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiovascular Coding Reference, the code 93568 is separately billable if you are billing a PFO closure. The code for PFO closure is 93580. I'm understanding the book to say that since the primary code is bundled and you are billing for a PFO closure you can still bill the 93568 add on code. We are getting some denials stating that the primary code is not billed.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
