Hello,
Does any one know about Hedis codes for DM the code 3044F with an A1c less than 7? When I read up on then it says codes for patients with DM 1or 2, I was told that they can be used as screening codes when the physician orders an A1c with or with out the patient having DM?
Help!
Thanks,
Anita

3044F is for reporting quality measure percentage of patients 18 - 75 yrs of age with diabetes that had recent HbA1c level less than 7.0% so you have the correct code. What vinessachilders said is correct, only used for patients with diabetes and not used as screening codes.
