I have a coding question. I am new to neuro. I am looking for a code for mass screw fixation of the cervical 4,5 and 6. I found 22841 but it doesn't state just screws. Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Did you find the code? im having the same issue, our doctor did a revision of cervical screws, (lock them in place they were loose) and im having trouble finding the correct code just for revision (no new instrumentation was placed)

If the screws were only tightened and not replaced, use 22830.

Here's the code description from Optum:

The physician explores an existing fusion to diagnose and correct problems. The patient is placed in various positions depending on how the original fusion was performed (e.g., anterior, posterior, posterolateral). The physician makes an incision overlying the fused vertebrae. Fascia and paravertebral muscles are incised and retracted. The physician explores previous instrumentation, grafts, and wires; any or all may be partially replaced or adjusted during the exploration. When the exploration is complete, the fascia and vertebral muscles are repaired and returned to their anatomical positions. The incision is closed with layered sutures.
