Can someone tell me if code 299.0x cannot be used as a principal dx anymore? Doctor wrote Autism d/o as the principal....

In the ICD9 (2009) book 299.0X id a CC there is no note that stats this cannot not be use as a PDX
I would use as a PDX in warranted

Thanks. That's what I noticed but other coder told me this information and I wasn't sure.

It's possible that she meant it isn't payable as a PDX...???
