we are a pain clinic and bill chronic pain (G89.29) and then code the reason for the pain - I found Post laminectomy ( M96.1) which would be used when the patient has a post - laminectomy or discectomy but not pain due to spinal fusion
any idea what actual type of pain to code when they had a spinal fusion years ago and still hurt - should I just code a pain code? I would think with ICD-10 I should be coding the highest level of specificity, example I will use stenosis or or DDD
