My physician has asked me to research current & correct CPT coding for Eagle Syndrome, transoral excision or resection of styloid process. Upon research I find articles dated from 2010, 2017 & 2018, stating to use unlisted CPT 21499
does anyone know if the information is the current best coding information?

WE HAD A PHYSICIAN TO BILL THIS. IT DID GET PAID BUT ONLY AFTER WE SUBMITTED MEDICAL RECORDS SINCE THE CODE WAS UNLISTED. IT GOT DENIED AT FIRST BUT THEN PAID. THE DR'S OP NOTE REALLY HAS TO BE SPECIFIC AND VERY DETAILED. HOPE THIS HELPS!!
