I am interning at a hospital and am looking for some input to the long-term drug use V codes. I have little medical background and want to put together a list of commonly named drugs for each code so I can learn what drug fits with each code. The codes I keep questioning are V58.61, V58.63, V58.64, V58.65 and V58.69. I want to put together a cheat sheet listing common names of anticoagulants, antiplatelets/antithrombotics, steriods, and high risk drugs so I can become familar with these. Can those of you who having been coding for a while throw out some names for me?

Here are a few that come up commonly:
V58.61 - Warfarin, Coumadin
V58.67 -Insulin
V58.63 Plavix
V58.66 Aspirin
V58.68 Actonel, Fosamax, Boniva, Reclast
V58.65 prednisone, methylprednisone

I would start a list and just add to it to update every so often. Hope this helps.:)
