when coding a follow up from a colonoscopy that office visit would it be coding as a regular E&M code or would it be a no charge follow up code?? on the cms global website for colonoscopies it show a 0 90 day global. so I take this as colonoscopies do not have a global and therefore would be charged the E&M code.
Am I correct or not??

Thanks for the help

If its something than can just be sent in a letter such as, noting found followup in 10 years then no you shouldn't even have the patent come in (medical necessity for OV). Now if there are specific findings that need to be delivered and a plan of care needed then yes it would be medically necessary. In that case it can be billed since there is no global surgical period with most endoscopes or colonoscopies
