Can someone tell me what your thoughts are on this type of scenario. The surgeon preforms a bunionectomy and the medial eminence is removed and is used in another procedure done on the same day. Can you bill 20900 for bone graft harvest?

My opinion is no since you are already removing the medial eminence in the procedure and will just happen to use this bone for grafting on another procedure done the same day

Agree

If removing the medial eminence is just part of the bunionectomy it would not be reported separately. If the surgeon goes to the calcaneus specifically for donor bone, then yes. Any material that is collected "incidentally" is not reported separately.
