I have my AAS for Medical Office and have been a receptionist in Cardiology since I graduated 3 years ago. I have just started my new position of coding for Cardiology 2 weeks ago and even though I know the basics, this is like a whole new language!! I really need someone to tell me if there are some coding for cardiology basics out there or SOMETHING that will help me to read and understand these notes better!! Thank you SO much to anyone that can help me

Help - New in Cardiology

Hi, Medlearn has an excellent book which is published annually - "Peripheral & Cardiology Coder". In addition, Jim Collins has a monthly newsletter (from which you can obtain CEU's in the event you are certified) through his site "www.cardiologycoder.com". It's appears to be a little pricey, but the info is relevant and timely. I would check with your practice administrator to see about purchasing an admin account - I recently did that and signed up both departmental coders. In addition, he offers monthly webinars.

Hope this helps..best of luck!
