If anyone could please give me some direction on CPT 27508, (Closed treatment of femoral fracture, distal end, medial or lateral condyle, without manipulation).
What does "closed treatment" entail? I can't find clear information to describe what closed treatment without manipulation includes.

Physician saw a patient in the office for medial fem condyle micro fracture. A prescription was given for NSAID cream and a discussion was had about cortisone injection (pt refused) and bone cement if pain worsens.


The physicians states "will initiate closed tx".

I can't find clear information to describe what closed treatment without manipulation includes.

It means they don't do much at all just neurovascular exam to make sure no damage to nerves and blood vessels and give a leg brace and let it heal on its own.

Does the doctor need to give the patient a brace or some kind of support? Doctor did not give any braces or supports just a prescription for NSAID cream.
