A midlline incision was made. the patella fx was identified the hematoma was curetted and irrigated free. It was in serveral pieces with comminuted section on the midortion I then aligned the dorsal articular surface used two bone holding forceps medial and lateral and then reduced the fracture. I used the fluoroscoic unit to confirm anatomic reduction in lateral view. At that point, I placed two Kwires larger than 0.62 They were done both medial and lateral side.I then used a cerclage wire and performed a figure of eight around the gidewires. then tied in the midportion noted anatomic reduction of the fracture. I could passiverly flex it for several degrees without any motion at the fx site. I then bent the ends comfirmed with fluoro the construct was anatomic and the twisted the cut bend ends into the tissue and the patella in the quadriceps I oversew the with 0 absorbale suture.
