Diagnosis: Left Lower Extremity groin Incision Infection

Operations Performed:

1. Exploration of left lower extremity medial aspect wound.
2. Ablation of lymphatics
3. Tissue for biopsy. Deep tissue biopsy specimen sent.
4.Application of negative pressure wound VAC therapy.

Procedure:

Left incision above the medial aspect of the left knee was prepped in a sterile field.
Incision was made continuing all incisions of the would. This was carried down through deep layers and into the base aspect of the wound. Lymphatics were identified. There was noted to be having some leaking, and these were ablated accordingly and subsequent multiple layers were attempted to close. This was unsuccessful. There was tissues that resembled organized thrombus. This was sent of to pathology. At this point, the irrigation wound VAC was placed in the field. Bovie electro cautery was used for electrocauterization and negative wound VAc therapy was applied.
