Hello,
Asking for advice. I have a Medicare patient had an excision of a lesion on the chin. Pathology came back as dermal xanthomatous infiltrate extending to the lateral and deep margins of incision? What would be diagnosis code 709.9 unspec disorder of skin or 216.3 benign neoplasm of skin?

I would use benign neoplasm

Be sure to check you LCDs though, you may be required to have a secondary diagnosis as well to consider it payable.
