Am in need of some clarification please. Patient comes in in active labor... no other issues are going on... patient has a NSVD with 2nd pernial lac. So I just want to code for my perineal lac diagnosis, my gestational weeks, and delivery out come? Or do I also want the diagnosis code for active labor?

And if I do what code do I want because with a Normal Del dx it states can't be used with other codes from Chapter 15 and that is what the perineal lac codes to....

Yes to your first question. Also, there is not a code for active labor

Correct, if she has a lac or any other complication, you cannot use O80
