Good morning all!
I had a provider remove 5 ticks and is wanting to bill 10120 with 5 units. Medicare denied and from what I'm finding it seems to be included in the e/m code. The note doesn't show to me that an incision was indeed done. Does anyone have any experience with coding tick removals? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you so much!
Plan: Tick Removal. A tick located on the left rib cage, left ventral distal forearm, right ventral proximal forearm, left superior lateral midback, and left inferior lateral midback was removed with forceps. The tick was grasped with the forceps as close to the skin as possible and removed with gentle upward pressure.
