Looking for advice for cpt code for this visit. Female patient comes in with a ruptured follicular cyst of the skin in the groin area. It is already draining so provider removes additional purulent fluid by applying pressure, flushes with saline, packs and has patient return for two consecutive days to flush and replace packing. 3 visits total. Can you use a 10061 if the cyst is already ruptured and the provider did not document making and incision?

10061 clearly states incision and drainage and you advise that documentation does not state that this was performed so you cannot use this code. Your example above would simply be an E/M code.
