Pt was evaluated for abdominal pain following an appendectomy. Physician did an exploratory lap found nothing;however, physician also noticed right flank erythema and wanted to make sure no infection or fascitis so he made small incision in right flank and dissected down to fascia and explored the area found nothing and closed. Not sure what code I would use for the exploration of right flank because it was not a penetrating wound that he was exploring (20102). Any suggestions?
